Custom Denning, Australia's leading bus manufacturer, is accelerating its global expansion with another Element 2 electric bus, the 11th for the region, en-route to the United Kingdom. This milestone highlights Custom Denning's commitment to sustainable mobility, furthering the company's expansion into the international electric bus market.
The Element 2 is Custom Denning's second-generation electric bus, designed, engineered, and manufactured in Australia. The bus features a stainless-steel frame and advanced electric drive train, ensuring durability and efficiency for demanding urban and regional operations. With its robust design and engineering, the Element 2 is built to withstand diverse climates and operational requirements, making it suitable for global distribution.
The first batch of Element 2 buses, shipped to the UK in 2023, have undergone rigorous certification testing with a globally recognised authority, meeting all requirements and will soon operate on public transport networks. While initial units are manufactured in Australia, Custom Denning's longer term plan is to establish production facilities in Europe to support ongoing demand and provide localised support. This global distribution strategy positions the Element 2 as a competitive, turnkey solution for cities seeking to decarbonise their public transport fleets.
Custom Denning’s manufacturing process emphasises local job creation and high Australian content, with current local content levels exceeding 63%, with a large number of components sourced domestically. 100% of the bus assembly occurs at the St Marys facility, and the company’s partnership with leading battery suppliers ensures compliance with local and international environmental and ethical standards, further enhancing its global appeal.
A New Benchmark for Electric Buses
With more than 180 Element series electric buses produced and a growing presence in international markets, Custom Denning’s Element 2 is poised to become a benchmark for zero-emission public transport worldwide. Further growth into the UK marks a significant step in the company’s global journey, offering a sustainable, high-performance solution for the future of urban mobility.
